licensing
text remade, original source from AeroNook
TL;DR: credit = sure
i am alright with fellow tech youtubers using my footage in their own videos & projects. no need to request formal permission before using a clip - just need to credit the source.
if you use my footage without any attribution at all, it will NOT be tolerated. once discovered, you will receive a copyright strike on the platform hosting the content.
1. protected content
this policy covers all original assets produced under the RetroBloxxer (@TheRealRetroBloxxer) name across all official platforms. this includes:
- video footage (long-form video).
- design assets and technical documentation.
- original audio elements such as voiceovers.
2. allowed use cases
you are safe from copyright claims or strikes if your content falls under these guidelines and includes clear attribution:
- commentary or reaction videos: using snippets of my videos to comment or criticize on.
- websites: putting screenshots or short clips of my content into tutorials or similar content.
- b-roll: using my assets as visual filler or placeholder moments for your content.
3. what will strike you
copyright strikes are reserved for instances where content is taken without giving back:
- uncredited freebooting: downloading my short-form or long-form videos and uploading them directly to your own channel with zero mention of @TheRealRetroBloxxer anywhere.
- silent compilations: dumping my original footage or project visuals into generalized compilation videos without any explicit on-screen or description credit.
- impersonating: creating profiles using the RetroBloxxer name or branding assets to re-post existing media and farm engagement.
4. correctly crediting
to ensure your content is in good standing, match your attribution layout to your delivery format:
| Platform | Required Attribution Style |
|---|---|
| short video (TikTok, shorts, reels) | mention @TheRealRetroBloxxer clearly in the main caption, or add a brief on-screen text overlay (Footage: @TheRealRetroBloxxer). |
| long-form video (YouTube, etc.) | place a clickable hyperlink to youtube.com/@TheRealRetroBloxxer or retrobloxxer.github.io somewhere inside your video description text. |
| websites | include a text link directly to the asset: Footage of RetroBloxxer. |
5. enforcement
i don’t have the copyright match tool yet but yea
nothing here basically until I get a instance of a successful copyright strike.
6. FAQ
I forgot to credit you, but I just updated it. am I safe?
yea. as long as there is clear, visible attribution present by the time I review the platform’s copyright logs, your video is on the clear.
do I need to purchase a license to use your footage for a hobby project or stream?
as long as the content is under personal use, you can
if you are monetizing
standard YouTube ad monetization for commentary videos are allowed, if attributed.
a commercial license is required at direct monetization of my assets such as:
- using voiceovers,
- selling branding assets,
- sponsors tying or related to my footage
note to AeroNook
since I remade your asset, if you want me to go back to the old licensing, say less.
contact me thru my email or discord and I’ll change the text back with no complaints.
